Sales Leader- China

JOB SUMMARY

Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Sales Leader China is directly responsible for managing and developing the team in China in order to grow the TSI business in China. This position is responsible for channel development, cultivating key account relationships with customers, and identifying and developing new opportunities in the region. In addition to sales management and coaching, this position is to oversee business development, implement global go to market plans, and the development/implementation of regional sales and marketing initiatives.  This position will also have dotted line responsibility to the administrative functions of our China operation.Reporting to the VP of Sales, the Regional Managing Director is directly responsible for managing and developing the team in China in order to grow the TSI business in China. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Directly responsible for transforming the China operation to sustainable business growth with strong commercial infrastructure and professional business management. Has overall control of planning, staffing, budgeting, managing expense priorities, and recommending and implementing changes to methods.

  2. Responsible for developing the overall China business strategy including sales, vertical segment targets, go to market, business development and business operation. Articulate the timeline of this development and the necessary resources requirements with qualified justification.

  3. Builds a world-class commercial organization through recruiting, developing, managing and coaching the team.

  4. Provides leadership for the China organization that aligns with TSI’s corporate vision, mission and behaviors to inspire exceptional performance.

  5. Directs resources of China operation to maximize return for TSI and provide high quality experience for China customers.

  6. Makes decisions on administrative or operational matters and ensures operations’ effective achievement of objectives.

  7. At all times, represents the company in a professional and ethical manner.

  8. Directly addresses performance shortfalls in China organization – including assessment of non-performance, action plan for resolution, clarification of goals and consequences for continued non-performance.

  9. Directly assists high value customer accounts to facilitate stable ongoing business partnerships. Provides input on new market opportunities to TSI corporate personnel.

  10. Ensures that customers are fully satisfied with their interaction with TSI and are eager to enter into future transactions with TSI.

  11. Maintains strong relationship with positive references and ensure that any references given are supportive of company and product.

  12. Controls and resolves issues arising from non-optimal performance of TSI products and supports the development of corrective action processes

  13. Completes other assignments and special projects as requested.

Manage the sales, application support and administrative functions in China.

  1. Experience
  • Minimum of 15 years of progressive working experience and at least 8 years with people management
  • Have direct and indirect and sub-distribution sales channel management experience in China.
  • Experience in starting up a performance organization and developing solid business plan

 

  1. Knowledge of:

  • Chinese business practices and solid management skills
  • Desired
  • Market experience in one or more of the following: Government, Academic Research, Pharmaceutical, Semi-conductor, Construction, Occupational Health & Safety, Indoor Air Quality

 

  1. Core Competencies:
  • Strong leadership and communications skills – English (and Chinese)
  • Proficient in assessing different market segments and developing business plan
  • Highly experienced manager with well-developed inter-personal skills – must be able to drive high-level performance from a commercial team over an extended time period
  • Ability to drive regional business strategies and implement associated tactical plans
  • Well-developed commercial and technical skills including strategic account management, sales process management, negotiation, etc. 
  •  Self-motivated and directed.
  • Highly motivated and successful individual who can attract talented additions to the China TSI team, and build and maintain a positive, challenging and dynamic work environment for their reports
  • Ability to effectively resolve organizational and interpersonal conflicts
  • Ability to monitor and control numerous concurrent tasks in tandem.
  • Strong technical knowledge of the markets that TSI sells in to, government, university, automobile, pharmaceutical, HVAC, public health will be highly desirable.
  • Proven ability to excel in a cross-functional team environment.
