Advanced Manufacturing Assembler III at TSI
Under general supervision, the Pilot Assembler works with design and manufacturing engineering on development projects to transfer new products to the manufacturing floor.  As a Pilot Assembler, you will: assist in assembly of engineering prototype instruments; assist in defining, documenting, and training of methods for assembly and test of complex instruments; assist in configuring production bench/line setup for new products; serve as assembly lead for introducing new products to production.  This position may work closely with assemblers, technicians, engineers, the machine shop, buyers, and production planners.  Individuals must demonstrate a high level of computer proficiency and communication skills including written and verbal.


What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:
 •    Serve as an assembly lead on new product development teams.
•    Develop, document and test production assembly procedures for new products.
•    Translate procedures into Visual Factory and/or MS Visio format.
•    Utilize SAP to ensure component availability and proper production bin set up.
•    Develop, document and test assembly sequence of events (SOE).
•    Audit configuration control (BOMs, Assembly Procedures) for new products.
•    Train employees on written assembly, out of box audit, and other procedures as needed.
•    Perform highly complex assembly of engineering prototypes.
•    Configure production bench/line setup to support new products.
•    Become familiar with Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and other continuous improvement methods.
•    Problem solving.
•    Maintain and follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor.
•    Complete other assignments as requested.   


What Do You Need?
Required
•    High School Diploma or GED is required. 
•    5+ years of assembly experience with TSI products is required.

Desired
•    SAP or other ERP system experience is desired.
•    Proven ability to successfully work independently with very little supervision.
•    High technical aptitude, especially in electronics.
•    Willing and able to assist others with their commitments when they are overloaded.
•    Ability to work from complicated drawings, procedures, and technical manuals.
•    Demonstrates judgment to plan, perform, and make decisions as to the sequence of set-ups, operations, and processes.
•    Strong computer skills.  Proficient in using SAP and acts as a resource for others.
•    Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills to train others, promote change, and make improvements to the production process.
•    Ability to train others on more complex procedures and assemblies.
•    Excellent math, reading, writing, and reasoning skills.
•    Displays high level of problem-solving skills.
•    Shows a commitment to quality workmanship, attention to detail, and customer satisfaction.
•    Willing and able to be coached and mentored by others.
•    Flexible and able to adapt to changing environment.

Pay & Benefits: 
Competitive market salary from $46,800 - $52,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
