Controls and Calibration Software/Hardware Intern TSI
TSI is looking for a Controls and Calibration Software/Hardware intern to join our team! At TSI, you will work on real projects and have the opportunity to work alongside engineers, scientists, and other industry professionals. As a Controls and Calibration Software/Hardware Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology to enable TSI to deliver highly accurate aerosol and gas measurement products. The Controls and Calibration Software/Hardware Intern will have the opportunity to contribute to and build out TSI’s manufacturing and calibration infrastructures. If you are someone who loves to learn, try new things, and explore new technologies, this role is for you.
What Will You Do?
As an intern at TSI, you will get real experience!
- Build and maintain automated control systems used for calibration of new measurement products
- Develop, test, and maintain software applications used in manual and automated calibrations in a manufacturing environment
- Help develop methods of calibration for gas, flow, and/or aerosol measurement devices
- Help troubleshoot complex calibration fixtures and their accompanying software

What Do You Need?
Required
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Software Engineering or related field
- CUM 3.0 GPA preferred (based on 4.0 scale)
- Understanding of electromechanical controls and basic control science
- Experience with object-oriented programming and the C++ and/or C# languages
- Demonstrates an eagerness and willingness to learn
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn from failures
Preferred
- Knowledge of uncertainty calculations and methods
- Experience and knowledge of databases and SQL
- Experience working with PLCs and common industrial machine control protocols
- Experience with creating and interfacing with real-time firmware for microprocessor devices
- Experience with LabView and Matlab
- First-hand experience with robotics or building electromechanical hardware
- Coursework in gas or aerosol measurement
