Director of Supply Chain at TSI

Provides overall leadership to the supply chain groups, including strategic supply chain (TSI group), procurement (SV), demand and shop floor planning (SV), strategic logistics (SV) and inventory management/analytics (SV). Responsible for developing, implementing, and continually improving the supply chain processes necessary to effectively and efficiently support the uninterrupted supply of products to our customer base, while optimizing the supply network and using innovative sourcing approaches to achieve the lowest total cost. Sets the direction for strategic sourcing initiatives in support of new product development as well as TSI’s global supply chain.  Develops and executes the global procurement strategy to achieve business results.  Oversees activities relating to sourcing, key commodity and supplier management of parts, supplies, equipment and services. 

 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Develop global sourcing strategies for a range of commodities and drive implementation of those commodity strategies and ensure balance of cost savings, inventory levels, and risk levels.

  • Manage supplier relationships (including scorecards, internal metrics and inventory control) in order to support production needs at the lowest total cost.

  • Participate in the negotiation of major supplier contracts and purchases. Evaluate and identify opportunities for optimization of corporate non-inventory spend.

  • Ensure optimization of Sales and Operations Planning process and the shop floor planning and inventory analytics functions in order to support production demand as well as corporate cash flow goals.

  • Drive supply chain participation in the New Production Development process to minimize total future cost and minimize manufacturing risk.

  • Hold suppliers accountable for meeting continuous improvement including lead time reduction, flexibility to schedules, quality improvement, inventory reduction and cost reduction on a year over year basis.

  • Monitor appropriate financial metrics to maximize cost savings for the organization.

  • Work with peers in management to drive the execution of continuous improvement projects.

 

Supervisory Responsibilities 

This role has direct supervisory responsibilities for strategic sourcing personnel including commodity management and supply chain engineering within TSI.

  • Recruit, hire, and retain high performing team.

  • Define employee objectives, conduct performance reviews, provide feedback and make recommendations regarding compensation, promotion, training, and discipline.

  • Coach and mentor direct reports.

  • Define and execute required training programs to address industry, product, process, and technology training needs.

 

What Do You Need?

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations/Supply Chain Management or Engineering.

  • Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in supply chain/procurement.

  • 3-5 years of experience leading and managing supply chain, procurement, inventory management, or similar teams.

  • Demonstrated skills in contract negotiation and contract management.

  • Direct experience with supplier management and supplier quality management.

  • Global sourcing experience.

 

Desired

  • Electronics industry experience.

 

Travel

Less than 25% travel is typically expected

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $160,000 - $190,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
