JOB SUMMARY

Candidate will be responsible for electrical engineering support of existing products including hardware, firmware, and systems.  You will work with a multi functional team to support customers and production and will lead efforts to improve performance, manufacturability and quality of products.  Candidates must have a bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering with 3-5 years of practical experience (for instance, from internships).  Critical knowledge required includes: C programming language, analog circuit design, digital circuit design, and embedded system design. 

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide engineering support to manufacturing personnel to solve production problems.
  • With some guidance, design, test and debug somewhat complex electrical circuits to ensure compliance with specifications, quality standards and customer needs.
  • Evaluate potential solutions to engineering problems for feasibility, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Apply problem solving skills to analysis of new and unfamiliar engineering problems and review potential solutions with senior level engineers and/or project leads when necessary.
  • Responsible for managing own work flow and developing a deeper understanding of product lines.
  • Utilize knowledge to design tests and validations of work.
  • Support design changes by reviewing proposed changes, engineering drawings, documentation, and change control.
  • Evaluate replacement components or circuit design changes to accommodate obsolete components.
  • May travel to customer sites to provide customer service support and help resolve problems.
  • May interface with contract manufacturers to solve production issues.

 

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

REQUIRED

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.  
    • If a Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is held, substitutions may be made for the Bachelor’s degree
  • 3 - 5 years of electrical engineering experience
  • C Programming Language.
  • Analog circuit design, testing and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Digital signal processing, hardware and programmable logic design.
  • Embedded system design.

 

DESIRED

  • Wide range of experience in hardware, firmware and systems (either product design or product support)
  • Working knowledge of emissions/immunity testing and design principles
  • Electronics and high level programming languages like C/C++, Visual C++
  • Electrical Layout and grounding principles
