Laboratory Scientist Intern TSI
TSI is looking for a Laboratory Scientist Intern to join our team! At TSI, you will work on real projects and have the opportunity to work alongside engineers, scientists, and other industry professionals. As a Laboratory Scientist Intern, you will have the opportunity to work with cutting-edge technology to enable TSI to deliver products and services more efficiently and quickly. The Laboratory Scientist Intern will have the opportunity to contribute to and build out TSI’s gas and aerosol measurement product lines. If you are someone who loves to learn, try new things, and explore new technologies, this role is for you.
What Will You Do?
As an intern at TSI, you will get real experience!
- Evaluate and experiment with various gas sensing technologies
- Conduct experiments with various aerosol sensing technologies
- Develop and report on test methodologies
- Build and maintain test fixtures
- Conduct tests to troubleshoot and improve existing products
- Conduct and report on measurement validation tests for new products

What Do You Need?
Required
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or related field
- CUM 3.0 GPA preferred (based on 4.0 scale)
- Understanding of scientific method, experimental methods, and basic statistics
- Experience with data analysis using MS Excel
- Experience with hands-on laboratory work, through coursework or otherwise
- Demonstrates an eagerness and willingness to learn
- Demonstrates a willingness to learn from failures
Preferred
- First hand work with gas measurement sensors and instrumentation or advanced technical knowledge of electrochemical gas sensing
- Experience measuring aerosols in a laboratory setting
- Experience building and knowledge of controls or circuit design for conducting experiments
- Experience with advanced methods of data analysis, such as regression analysis and use of artificial intelligence
- Experience using LabView or Matlab
