MSP, a Division of TSI, serves two major markets: Semiconductor and Inhalation medicine testing.  We provide innovative solutions to Semiconductor OEM tool suppliers essential for manufacturing the cutting-edge chips used to drive the rapidly growing electronics chip manufacturing space.  We are the leading supplier of critical test equipment for inhaled medicines, certifying that the size of the medicinal product reaches the most effective area of the bronchial tract maximizing people’s health.   We have aggressive growth plans, and expectations, and are looking for a manufacturing engineer to assist us in reaching our goals by driving improvements in our manufacturing processes, quality, and efficiencies resulting in reduced costs and increased capacity.

Manufacturing Engineer II at MSP
The Manufacturing Engineer II provides manufacturing floor, clean room and overall process support within a low-volume, high mix precision instrument build environment for assigned value streams to meet internal and external customer needs and provide on-going improvement of manufacturing processes. They will identify, measure, analyze, create, and implement effective manufacturing and business processes, procedures and standardized methods.  Work is varied in nature.  Also plans, performs and leads engineering duties for major and minor projects.  Duties and responsibilities are moderate in complexity. 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with MSP, you will be responsible for:

• Interface with ERP System (SAP) to prepare new and revise existing manufacturing documents, drawings, and Bills of Materials (BOM) used to manufacture and test instruments.
• Solve day to day manufacturing problems, implement Engineering Change Orders (ECO), and work proactively to find and eliminate waste and increase productivity.
• Investigate and resolve supplier quality problems and customer complaints.
• Respond to corrective actions and feedback that relates to the production floor to solve customer needs.
• Lead structured problem solving (8-D) teams and Kaizen events in assigned area.
• With limited guidance, perform complex analysis on data sets.
• Train manufacturing staff, team leaders, and peers on changes to manufacturing or business processes in assigned area.
• Participate on cross-functional teams that require coordinating with staff from continuation engineering, quality, production control, inventory, and purchasing.
• May be assigned to lead or participate in development or improvement projects.
• Maintain best practices on the manufacturing floor including Lean Manufacturing, 5S, and Point of Use inventory.
• Use established policies and procedures to complete work assignments.
• Develop technical understanding of assigned products and associated calibration systems.
• Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor or safety committee member.
• Complete other assignments as requested.

What Do You Need?
Required

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (mechanical, electrical, manufacturing, industrial) or related discipline is required.
• Minimum of 5 years manufacturing engineering experience is required.

Desired

• Capacity and throughput planning, layout of production build stations for growth and efficiency, process mapping and cleanroom processes and testing.
• Assist with product cost improvements (parts, vendors, assembly, testing, labor).
• Develop and support manufacturing documentation (work instructions, process procedures, test procedures).
• Analyze production processes, schedules, forecasts and labor data and provide reports that clearly show future requirements needed for the manufacturing process.
• Assist with internal process quality audits, customer complaint investigations and supplier part quality issue resolution.
• Support process improvements, Kaizen events and problem solving (8-D) teams across all operational areas, support overall process improvement activities.
• Support tasks: training, documentation, safety support, Quality/ISO support, material master/BOM creation, action item drive to completion.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $92,000 - $100,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
