Mechanical Engineer II at TSI
As a Mechanical Engineer you should
 demonstrate an understanding of a focused and disciplined approach to engineering work and collaboratively solve problems associated with the on-going support of fielded products and support of manufacturing.  You will work independently while being mentored by senior engineers.   You must effectively communicate in cross functional teams that span all engineering disciplines, marketing and production and external customers.

 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Supporting the mechanical and measurement testing on in-development instrumentation as needed.
  • Evaluating potential solutions to engineering problems for feasibility, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness.
  • Estimating task duration and resource requirements for activities.
  • Reviewing solutions with other engineers and managers when necessary.
  • Applying problem solving skills to analysis of new and unfamiliar engineering problems.
  • Supporting design changes by reviewing proposed changes, engineering drawings, documentation, and change control.
  • Prioritizing work with input from engineering and product management.
  • Providing strong documentation and specifications on project work.
  • Managing own work flow and developing a deeper understanding of product lines.
  • Working cooperatively with other departments to develop best practices.
  • Actively participating in design reviews.  Giving critical and constructive feedback to improve the reviewed designs.

 

What Do You Need?
Essential

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
    • If a Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering is held, substitutions may be made for the Bachelor’s degree.
  • 1-5 years of Engineering Experience
  • Mechanical engineering fundamentals
  • Strong communications skills
  • Engineering tools and software
    • 3D CAD Modeling
    • Excel
    • Word

Desired

  • Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experience developing and supporting production processes
  • Experience in fluid flow applications.
  • Testing Experience
    • Test planning experience
    • Experience in writing code to automate testing procedures.
    • Experience in testing products for regulated industries.
  • Data analysis and reporting
  • Design Experience
    • Experience designing plastic molded parts, sheet metal and machined parts.
  • Modeling the physics of product behavior using engineering tools.
  • Analysis of production processes using statistical tools.
  • GD&T
  • Mil-Spec, ANSI, ASTM and other engineering standards.
  • Risk identification and management
  • Lean Product development methodologies
  • Pro/E Creo Experience
