MSP is looking for a Wafer Deposition Technician to join our Semiconductor Metrology team to produce particle suspensions and contamination standards by depositing particles on wafers, photomasks, and other substrates.  Our world-class calibration standards are used by leading semiconductor manufacturing customers who have stringent requirements and production deadlines.  Approximately 50% of the work is to be conducted in a full gown cleanroom.  This role will interface with production management, sales, and engineering as we strive to surpass our customers’ expectations in terms of quality, delivery lead-time, and valued solutions.


Job Responsibilities

  1. Seeking a technician, who has a high attention to detail and precise work-execution in performing particle depositions on wafers, photomasks, and other substrates.
  2. Generate Wafer and Photomask Contamination Standards used to calibrate Semiconductor Defect Inspection Equipment by performing highly accurate work under delivery pressures per customer project.
  3. Work with managers to schedule production orders and plan details of order processing
  4. Receive, visually inspect, and document incoming customer goods (wafers, photomasks, other substrates)
  5. Produce particle suspensions following predefined processing recipes
  6. Assist with development of new deposition recipes by putting them into either MS Excel or MS PowerPoint.
  7. Perform particle depositions on wafers, photomasks, and other substrates
  8. Use wafer inspection equipment to validate wafer depositions
  9. Prepare technical documentation to summarize and certify particle depositions
  10. Ensure quality products through process improvement and equipment maintenance
  11. Assist with improving manufacturing capabilities through the investigation, resolution and improvement of manufacturing process issues
  12. Assist in monitoring and maintaining clean room equipment and facilities
  13. Management of inventory of materials required for depositions and particle making
  14. Work cooperatively with other departments and follow all cleanroom practices
  15. Follow all safety guidelines and report unsafe conditions to supervisor
  16. Other duties as assigned, including pharmaceutical inhaler testing service work on a time-available basis


Job Requirements


  • Associate's Degree (Engineering or Science focused - e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Math, etc.)




  • 2+ years of work experience in a varied processing/testing role (metrology, laboratory, analysis, chemistry, quality or other scientific work)
  • Proficient in the Microsoft Office software suite. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc)
  • Experience operating complex or specialized laboratory equipment
  • Experience communicating directly with customers about their requirements


  • Experience handling sensitive/delicate materials like photomasks or silicone wafers
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry handling wafers, or other substrates, is a major plus
  • Experience in the semiconductor industry
