Technical Support Specialist II at TSI

This is a skilled position responsible for interfacing with, and providing technical support to, TSI customers, distributors, channel partners, OEMs, engineers, end users, Regional Sales Managers (RSM) and other TSI offices around the world for troubleshooting problems with equipment, answering technical questions and providing before and after sales support.  May include, but is not limited to, providing technical support via phone and email, creating and providing product quotes and proposals, internal training of Sales and Inside Sales, and supporting order processing accuracy.  This position may be assigned to specific product lines that require specialized knowledge and experience.  Includes all responsibilities of Technical Support Specialist I in addition to product and/or industry specific expertise gained through experience and/or education. 

 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Provide pre- and post-sales technical and applications advice to customers, sales personnel and representatives/distributors via phone, fax, email, or skype.
  • Maintain knowledge of current and obsoleted products and assist end-users, channel partners, sales, with determination of needed product(s) and provide replacement recommendations for obsolete products.
  • Maintain current and acquire new knowledge in areas of expertise through attending trainings, classes, seminars and engineering meetings in areas of support.
  • May take incoming sales calls, prepare formal quotes and close orders.
  • Represent TSI Customers and Customer Support at Quality Review meetings and document all product/software complaints in TSI quality system.
  • Provide timely follow up with customers to resolve problems and offer trade-in options when equipment is no longer serviceable, coordinating with other TSI personnel/departments to address customer needs and inquiries.
  • Prepare and maintain sales support tools/materials, including canned proposals, competitive information, etc.
  • Determine the accuracy of orders, identify corrections, coordinate them with the Sales Operations team and drive for order process improvements.
  • Explain TSI’s policies, processes, and requirements to customers when needed.
  • Read, write, review, proof, and edit technical diagrams and manuals if needed.
  • Research and provide information to end-users and channel partners regarding sales order status, service returns, part number determination, pricing and delivery information.
  • Assist representatives and distributors with questions regarding discount schedules, commissions and product availability.

 

What Do You Need?

Required

  • 2-year technical degree in a related field
  • 3+ years in a technical customer support role
  • Experience using an ERP system (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, etc.)

Desired

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related field
  • Experience in technical sales and/or applications engineering 
  • Experience in field service support with HVAC equipment
