Production Lab Technician at MSP
MSP is looking for a Production Lab Technician to join our Semiconductor Metrology team to produce particle suspensions and contamination standards by depositing particles on wafers, photomasks, and other substrates. Our world-class calibration standards are used by leading semiconductor manufacturing customers who have stringent requirements and production deadlines. Approximately 50% of the work is to be conducted in a full gown Metrology lab cleanroom. This role will interface with production management, sales, and engineering as we meet and strive to exceed our customers’ expectations in terms of quality, delivery lead-time, and valued solutions.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with MSP, you will be responsible for:
- Seeking a technician who has a high attention to detail and precise work-execution in a clean room environment.
- Performs highly accurate work under delivery pressures for customer projects using MSP Wafer Deposition Equipment.
- Work with managers to schedule production orders and plan details of order processing.
- Receive, visually inspect, and document incoming customer goods (wafers, photomasks, other substrates)
- Produce particle suspensions following predefined MSP recipes.
- Develop new deposition recipes and test parameters to successfully complete jobs.
- Perform particle depositions on wafers, photomasks, and other substrates.
- Use wafer inspection equipment to validate depositions are accurate and correct.
- Prepare technical documentation to summarize and certify particle depositions.
- Ensure quality products through process improvement and equipment maintenance.
- Assist with the development of new deposition recipes.
- Learn quickly with highly varied tasks and minimal repetition.
- Assist in monitoring and maintaining clean room equipment and facilities.
- Assist with improving manufacturing capabilities through the investigation, resolution and improvement of manufacturing process issues.
- Management of inventory of materials required for depositions and particle making.
- Work cooperatively with other departments and follow all cleanroom practices.
- Maintain critical-thinking skills and perform highly accurate work under various pressures and stress per unique customer orders.
What Do You Need?
Required
• Associate's Degree in Engineering or Science (e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Math, etc.)
• 2+ years of work experience in research or testing role (metrology, laboratory, analysis, chemistry, physics or other scientific work)
• Proficient in the Microsoft Office software suite. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, etc)
• Experience operating complex or specialized laboratory equipment
• Experience communicating directly with customers and technical team members about specific job requirements
Desired
• Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Science (e.g. Chemistry, Physics, Math, etc.)
• Semiconductor experience using metrology equipment, wafer scanners, is a major plus
• Semiconductor industry experience handling wafers, or other substrates, is a major plus
• Experience in the semiconductor industry

Pay & Benefits:
Competitive market salary from $50,000 - $56,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
