Production Planner I at TSI

Under general supervision the Production Planner will use their knowledge of SAP, lead times and manufacturing capacity, to create and release production plans, analyze customer order information and communicate order and delivery information to project managers, customer service and management. Also responsible for coordinating production plans and materials to achieve customer service expectations.  Planners will be core members of the manufacturing value streams and will be required to understand the material flow of the products they are scheduling as well as the dynamics of the bill of material structures.

 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Release individual production orders based on the master schedule, capacity constraints, sales demand and available materials. 
  • May prepare or manage master schedules and production plans based on the input from sales and marketing forecasts. 
  • Review and becomes familiar with engineering drawings, specifications, Bill of Materials (BOM), and other technical documents for assigned work centers.
  • Understand all material replenishment methodologies, plan and change the materials to utilize the most effective and efficient method. (i.e. issue to backflush, pegged demand vs. reorder point, Kanban and point of use inventory).
  • Work with other TSI operations staff and suppliers to resolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Work with purchasing department to ensure adequate and proper flow of materials, including expediting parts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory/product data for sales and marketing personnel, representatives, and distributors.
  • Manage the stock transfer processes (STO) for goods ordered from and for other locations.
  • Participate in cross functional continual process improvement teams as assigned such as Lean Manufacturing or Point of Use Inventory.
  • Determine lead times and plan shipments based on review of incoming orders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels to meet stated department goals and corporate objectives.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as requested.

What Do You Need?

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management or related field.
  • 0-3 years of experience in a materials position with ERP Exposure
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite

Desired

  • Experience working with SAP

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $65,000 - $76,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
