Production Planner I at TSI

Under general supervision, the Production Planner I leverages expertise in SAP, lead times, and manufacturing capacity to create and release production plans, analyze customer order information, and communicate order and delivery updates to project managers, customer service, and management. This role is also responsible for coordinating production plans and materials to meet customer service expectations. Planners serve as core members of their manufacturing value streams and are expected to understand the material flow of the products they schedule, as well as the dynamics of bill of materials structures.

 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Release individual production orders based on the master schedule, capacity constraints, sales demand and available materials. 
  • May prepare or manage master schedules and production plans based on the input from sales and marketing forecasts. 
  • Review and become familiar with engineering drawings, specifications, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and other technical documents for assigned work centers.
  • Understand all material replenishment methodologies and select the most effective and efficient approach for each situation (e.g., issue to backflush, pegged demand vs. reorder point, Kanban, and point-of-use inventory).
  • Collaborate with TSI operations staff and suppliers to resolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule disruptions.
  • Partner with the purchasing department to ensure an adequate and uninterrupted flow of materials, including expediting parts as needed.
  • Maintain accurate inventory and product data for sales and marketing personnel, representatives, and distributors.
  • Manage the stock transfer processes (STO) for goods ordered from and for other locations.
  • Participate in assigned cross-functional continuous improvement teams, such as Lean Manufacturing or Point-of-Use Inventory initiatives.
  • Determine lead times and plan shipments based on review of incoming orders.
  • Maintain accurate inventory levels to meet stated department goals and corporate objectives.

 

What Do You Need? 

Required

  • A Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
  • 0-3 years of relevant experience in a materials or supply chain role with ERP exposure.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.

Desired

  • Experience working with SAP.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $65,000 - $76,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
