Production Planner II at TSI

Under minimal supervision the Production Planner II will use their knowledge of SAP, lead times and manufacturing capacity, to create and release production plans, analyze customer order information and communicate order and delivery information to project managers, customer service and management. This position is also responsible for coordinating production plans and materials to achieve customer service expectations.  Planners will be core members of the manufacturing value streams and will be required to understand the material flow of the products they are scheduling as well as the dynamics of the bill of material structures.

 

This position is considered a seasoned, experienced professional with a full understanding of industry practices in regards to master scheduling and production control.  They will be required to work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of multiple factors.

 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Release individual production jobs based on the master schedule, capacity constraints and available materials. 
  • Work with other TSI operations and purchasing staff to resolve material shortages, backlogs, and other potential schedule interruptions.
  • Work with purchasing department to ensure adequate and proper flow of materials, including expediting parts.
  • Maintain accurate inventory/product data for sales and marketing personnel, representatives, and distributors.
  • Manage the stock transfer processes (STO) for goods ordered from and for other locations.
  • Determine lead times and plan shipments based on review of incoming orders. 
  • Improve inventory turns and cash flow in assigned value streams.
  • Prepare and manage master schedules and production plans based on the input from sales and marketing forecasts. 
  • Help devise SKU-specific inventory and manufacturing strategies to support inventory goals and reduce book-to-ship cycle times.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and drive changes in methods and procedures in assigned Value Streams.
  • Work with SAP reports in order to manipulate analyze, and maintain data.
  • Partner with IT and Purchasing to maximize efficiencies and eliminate waste, and work on specific material replenishment processes.
  • May assist with writing ISO work instructions and standard work documents.
  • May manage the phase-in planning of new products and the phase-out planning of products to be moved to an end-of-life status.
  • Participate in cross functional continual process improvement teams as assigned such as Lean Manufacturing or Point of Use Inventory.
  • May assist with special corporate projects such as SAP enhancements or installations at other locations.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as requested.

 

What Do You Need? 

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Engineering, or related field required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working with production or inventory control systems in a manufacturing environment.
  • ERP system experience.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.).

 

Desired

  •  CPIM or other APICS certification.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from $85,000 - $100,000 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
