Quality Calibration Technician at TSI
The Quality Calibration Lead is responsible for managing the calibration program for Measurement and Test Equipment (M&TE) within the TSI Calibration Laboratory. This involves overseeing internal calibration processes, reporting, maintaining documentation, and coordinating with external vendors and various internal departments. The Lead will ensure M&TE across TSI, including service centers and work centers, is calibrated according to schedule and requirements, supporting overall quality and operational efficiency.

 

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

  • Calibration Program Management:
    • Maintain comprehensive M&TE calibration schedules, records, and files (both electronic and hard copy).
    • Perform simple internal calibrations on electrical and mechanical M&TE according to established written procedures.
    • Verify through periodic facility reviews that all applicable M&TE is included and managed within the TSI calibration system.
    • Prepare Calibration Review Reports (CRRs) for M&TE that fails calibration and coordinate the CRR approval process.
    • Test Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) monitors periodically to ensure correct operation.
    • Support and contribute to TSI initiatives ensuring the calibration system complies with applicable standards such as ISO 17025 and TSI requirements.
  • Coordination & Logistics:
    • Coordinate external and on-site calibrations by liaising with outside calibration vendors and internal TSI personnel. Provide timely feedback to calibration vendors.
    • Collaborate with the TSI service center and work centers to manage the calibration of M&TE used in those areas. Facilitate the review and release of calibrated equipment.
    • Collaborate with personnel from other departments to initiate purchase orders and arrange shipment of M&TE for external/manufacturer's calibration.
    • Provide support and guidance to international service centers in maintaining the M&TE calibration system at their respective facilities.
  • Safety & Other Duties:
    • Follow all established safety guidelines and report any unsafe conditions to the supervisor immediately.
    • Complete other assignments and special projects as assigned.

 

What Do You Need?
Required

  • Associate's Degree (A.S. or A.A.S.) in Electronics Technology, Mechanical Technology, Metrology, or a related technical field;
  • Equivalent combination of formal calibration course training and demonstrated technical experience.
  • Training or demonstrated understanding of quality assurance principles and ISO 9001 standards.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on technical experience performing M&TE calibration with an Associates Degree
  • In Lieu of an Associates Degree, 7+ years of hands-on technical experience performing M&TE calibration within an ISO 9001 (or similar) Quality Management System
  • Working knowledge of fundamental measurement theory, metrology principles, and calibration practices.
  • Familiarity with common electronic and mechanical measurement equipment and components.

Desired

  • ASQ Certified Calibration Technician (CCT) or other relevant certification.
  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems for quality/inventory functions.
  • Knowledge of TSI products and their operation.
  • Experience supporting or managing calibration activities across multiple departments or sites.

Pay & Benefits:

Competitive market salary from  $54,080-$58,240 per year* depending on qualifications and experience. For eligible Leadership and individual contributor roles, additional bonus opportunities may be available and awarded at the discretion of the Company.
