Who Are We?
Do you want to help to make the world a better place? Join our team! At MSP, our vision is to enrich lives by improving health and productivity. We are proud to provide leading edge solutions enabling rapid innovation in processes and methods in the semiconductor and pharmaceutical industries. MSP employees are part of something special with a purpose.
MSP, A division of TSI, is a fast-moving and agile organization experiencing tremendous growth. MSP serves both the Semiconductor and Pharmaceutical markets. We provide technology differentiated vaporization and filtration products to CVD/ALD process tool manufacturers in addition to contamination standards and systems to defect inspection equipment manufacturers. MSP is also the industry leader in pharmaceutical inhalation test products and in providing the core measurement for DPI/MDI characterization applications. We are looking for a person who wants to join a dynamic and motivated team serving the pharmaceutical and semiconductor metrology markets.
Senior Mechanical Engineer at MSP
The Senior Mechanical Engineer is a senior engineer who independently solves complex problems in the design, development, and manufacture of products for MSP, a division of TSI, with emphasis on MSP's wafer deposition systems. These automated semiconductor tools generate, size-classify, and deposit particles onto wafers for inspection-tool calibration. System design consists of integrating a wafer-handling robot with MSP-designed aerosol generation and classification, controlled airflow and vacuum, and cleanroom-compatible frames and enclosures in large, complex assemblies. MSP's products also include aerosol instruments, pharmaceutical impactors, and liquid and vapor delivery systems. This role leads the mechanical portion of development projects, integrating structural and flow-path design with the electrical, controls, and software disciplines. The Mechanical Engineer III communicates effectively across engineering, manufacturing, quality, service, marketing, and sales, and with customers.
What Will You Do?
In order to grow and build a successful career with MSP, you will be responsible for:
- Independently design and develop mechanical systems and subsystems for MSP's wafer deposition systems and other semiconductor and aerosol products, integrating them with electrical, controls, and software designs; provide mechanical design support for MSP's Next Generation Impactor inhaler test systems.
- Design and manage large, complex system-level assemblies, including tool frames, enclosures, and service access, with a clean top-level assembly structure, defined interfaces, and accurate BOMs.
- Design aerosol and gas flow-path hardware, including particle generation and classification components, deposition chambers, flow and vacuum manifolds, filtration, and high-purity fittings.
- Perform engineering analysis, including tolerance stack-ups, structural/FEA, vibration, airflow and particle transport, and materials compatibility, and evaluate design alternatives for performance, manufacturability, serviceability, and cost.
- Plan and execute component, subsystem, and system-level tests and experiments, including DOE, to verify and validate designs; analyze data and document results.
- Translate customer and product requirements into mechanical specifications, and support customers on technical questions, qualification, and field issues.
- Create and release engineering documentation, including 3D models, drawings with GD&T, BOMs, specifications, ECOs, DFMEAs, and test reports, following MSP's ISO 9001 design and development process.
- Lead the mechanical portion of projects: estimate tasks and resources, own the mechanical schedule, identify and mitigate technical risks, lead design reviews, and provide work direction and mentoring to other engineers, designers, and technicians.
- Work with suppliers on machined, sheet-metal, welded, and high-purity components, including design-for-manufacturability input, first-article inspection, and resolution of supplier quality issues.
- Work with manufacturing, quality, service, sales, and marketing to release products to production, resolve production and field issues, and develop engineering best practices.
- Other duties as assigned.
