Staff Accountant at TSI

Under general supervision, the Staff Accountant prepares and analyzes accounting reports, financial data and records, making recommendations relative to the treatment or recording of various activities, reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records, prepares account reconciliations, and assists with annual budget and audit preparation in a manner consistent with company objectives and in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.

What Will You Do?

In order to grow and build a successful career with TSI, you will be responsible for:

• Managing and maintaining the general ledger.
• Monthly close responsibilities including account reconciliation and journal entries.
• Reviews and verifies the accuracy of journal entries and accounting classifications assigned to various records.
• Gathers information and publishes various management reports. Develops new reports as needed.
• Analyzes financial reports, records, and makes recommendations relative to the accounting of reserves, amortizations, accruals, assets, and expenditures.
• Develops or recommends accounting methods and procedures.
• Ensures compliance with company policies.
• Assists in annual budgeting and audit preparation.
• Coordinates accounting activities with other departments and company locations as necessary.
• Performs other related duties and special projects as assigned.

What Do You Need?

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting

Experience

• 0-2 years accounting experience

Knowledge

• Strong written and verbal communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
• Attention to detail
• Above average analytical, problem-solving and research skills
• Ability to think and work independently
• Working knowledge of computerized accounting and spreadsheet software programs
